What to expect

When Booking Your Trip

We ask for two weeks’ notice for field trip reservations to allow us to plan for your group adequately. Please note that we book up months in advance for our busy months of June/July. Please check if your date is available below.

We do not need an exact headcount for your field trip to make your reservation. We only need a rough estimate of the number of guests attending. We require a non-refundable deposit of 1/2 the total amount within one week of booking to hold the date for your field trip.

Please note: We require at least one chaperon per five children. There are no exceptions.

We will call three days before your event to confirm your headcount and send your final payment invoice. We will adjust your final payment based on your updated headcount, and your deposit will be applied to this amount. Field must be paid for in full upon arrival.

The Day Of Your Trip

Our Pavilion is conveniently located by the zoo’s entrance so guests can quickly unload their vehicle. We ask all guests to check in at the front desk, where they will receive a field trip wristband and feed cup.

We allow guests to bring their own snacks/lunches with them. We have a refrigerator for perishable items for guests to use.

Our pavilion area is 12×30 and has three picnic tables underneath. In addition, we have another seven picnic tables for guests to use if needed with umbrellas.

Once everyone has arrived, we will have a guided tour of the zoo followed with seven animal encounters. Typically, this takes about 2 hours.

We do not allow outside treats for the animals, pinatas, noisemakers, confetti cannons, air horns, or alcohol.
