Reviews

I took my 2 1/2 year old and she LOVED it! She was able to pet and feed goats, pigs, sheep, donkeys, rabbits, horses, chickens, and lamas. (There were other animals too!) The staff was very friendly and even let her hold and spend time with baby goats and rabbits. The farm was big enough and fenced in for her to run around but not too big where I couldn’t keep my eyes on her. The rest of the day she kept asking to go back!

Great environment. Amazing, friendly staff. Nice variety of animals to pet and feed. Very interactive place. My kids loved the prairie dogs and bunnies the most. I highly recommend for all kids.

What a gem! Ballyhoo is the sweetest little petting zoo. So interactive and inviting. I took my 5 year old and 17 month old and we had the best time. Staff was great too! Well worth the hour drive and we will definitely be back

We just visited today at Ballyhoo. It was the absolute best. You walk at your own pace and once you pay and are in that’s when the fun starts.Very family friendly and a couple of tables for a picnic. I think I enjoyed it just as much as my grandsons. DEFINITELY will be visiting here again soon. The clerk on Saturday( today) was the sweetest ever and very informative. Good job to the Ballyhoo team!!!

This is a wonderful family location! There are picnic tables with umbrellas, and there are snacks/sodas in the main office. Very affordable, and very great opportunity for kids to interact with animals. There were goats, sheep, cows, chickens, bunnies, horses, and ducks. All of the animals were well taken care of and the staff were very friendly. This is a locally owned operation, and I felt very good supporting this small farm. I highly recommend visiting this small, local business.

Yes we do have annual membership options! View Memberships here: https://www.ballyhoopettingzoo.com/tickets-memberships/

Where do you get your animals?

Most of animals are raised on the farm or donated through our animal rescue program. We currently have 80 animal rescues and counting. Our rescues vary from minor concerns to severe health issues that require ongoing treatment. We love all of our animals and make sure all rescues will be able to permanently stay at the farm or are 100% healthy before they will be eligible for adoption.

Learn more about our animal rescues here.

How much time/care does it take to run the farm?

The farm is a 24 hour job. Animal welfare is our #1 priority and we spend a great deal of time and effort making sure our animals receive the highest quality care possible. We are a USDA accredited facility and take great pride in our Class C Exhibitor certification.

We typically go through about 4,800lbs of hay and 1,600 of grain every month feeding all of our animals. Each species has a specific diet and nutrition plan based on their heath needs, age, and weight.

Aren’t all of the treats bad for the animals?

We use Purina & Mazuri animal feed, supplements, and treats. All of our treats are hay-based and do not include excess sugars. This means it does not effect their natural diet and are completely safe for them to eat.

Do the people stress the animals out?

We designed the farm so pens were only accessible on one or two sides. Animals are not forced to interact with guests and can retreat to the back of their pens at any time. All of their shelters are also turned away from guests so they can rest in their barns or houses and not be bothered.

However, Our animals are extremely spoiled and love attention. This has not been a problem since we opened, even on the busiest days!
